Chaol Westfall. Age 22. Was supposed to be the Lord of Anielle. WHICH MEANS HE WAS BORN INTO NOBILITY WHICH MEANS THAT HE ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS LAW OVER EVERYTHING. CHAOL PUT HIS PRINCE BEFORE HIS TITLE.

So now you know he listens to honor!!! Chaol at first was hesitant to even get with Aelin because she goes against the law which is EVERYTHING HE HAS EVER STOOD FOR. But he did it anyways and even wanted to MARRY HER. So Chaol is now learning how to become an independent thinker which is probably really hard because he grew up with the law over everything and the magic is completely bad mentality.

But when Aelin revealed herself in that portal Chaol didn’t turn her in, like the LAW WOULD HAVE REQUIRED. He put her over the law and sent her to where the fae were to save her! Chaol also struggling with Dorian’s magic is what makes him realistic because once again he has always put LAW OVER MAGIC OVER EVERYTHING. Him not turning him in shows that he values him, he just doesn’t know how to react because this is all struggling against beliefs HE HAS GROWN UP WITH. 

But regardless, in the end, he told Dorian he loved him BECAUSE DORIAN WAS THE MAN HE PUT OVER HIS OWN BIRTHRIGHT TO BE LORD OF ANIELLE. Chaol is an honorable character and realistic because we would all struggle like him or honestly give up.
